Preparation

Peel the vegetables and cook them in boiling water without letting them soften too much. Pass them through the finest blade of the grinding machine and then knead them with the beaten egg, aniseed, salt and flour until it does not stick to your fingers. Shape them into a number eight and fry them in the hot oil. Serve with strand point syrup.

Strand Point Syrup:
Put all the ingredients on the heat except the vanilla and let it boil for approximately five minutes, add the vanilla when lowering it from the heat.

Ingredients

  • • 1lb of yucca
  • • 1lb of taro
  • • 1 egg
  • • 1 tsp of anise
  • • ½ tsp salt
  • • ½ cup flour
  • • oil for frying
  • Strand Point Syrup:
  • • 2 cups white sugar
  • • 1 cup of water
  • • ¼ tsp lemon juice
  • • 1 cinnamon stick
  • • 1 tsp vanilla
