Passionflower tea (passion fruit flower)

Passiflora has in its composition passiflorin, flavonoids, C-glycosides and alkaloids, with sedative, calming, sleepy and hypnotic properties, being therefore useful in the treatment of anxiety, nervous tension, insomnia and difficulty in concentration. Some studies show that passionflower can treat menopausal symptoms, such as vasomotor signs (hot flashes and night sweats), insomnia, depression, anger, headaches, and can be a great alternative to conventional hormonal therapy.

Preparation

  • 1 teaspoon of dried passiflora leaves (passion fruit flower)
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • Preparation mode:
  • Add the dried leaves in a cup of boiling water, let stand for 10 minutes.
  • One should drink a cup before bed, to have a quiet night and prevent insomnia, or about three times a day, to reduce anxiety.
